Our priceless and irreplaceable natural heritage, whether it be state lands, national forests, national parks, national wildlife refuges, or the vast stretches of the American west under the control of the Bureau Of Land Management, these are all under attack from the Bush administration, conservative senators and congressmen, and numerous corporations that measure the value of public land only in dollars… in board feet of timber, in tons of minerals, as grazing land, in barrels of oil, and now in the public's outdoor recreational activities as an exploitable product.
Jeffrey Pine's organizations Free Our Forests and The National Forest Defense Alliance, and the other links that are provided here, are a call to action to preserve the wilderness and protect public lands, and to uphold the public's right to free access to those lands!
Help stop federal land management agency recreational user fees. These fee programs lead to privatization of public lands, commercial development and the degradation of the human concept of nature.
Help stem the tide of, and bring a sensible balance to, the rampant and short-sighted natural resource extraction on public lands, at the hands of anti-environmental federal legislators and self-serving private interests.
Help to keep our air, water and our nation's wild lands, forests and parks pristine.
Support legislation that fights pollution and environmental abuse in all of it's forms. Make federal legislators and federal land management agencies accountable for their actions. Help to preserve wildlife and the natural world for future generations to enjoy.
